A complete range of capabilities :

AIRPLANE PAINTER has an extended set of capabilities. A large range of services, surface preparation prior to paint, for new Aircraft or already in Operation are then offered to the Customer who can be an Aircraft Manufacturer, the owner / lessor, the operator or the MRO. Except when an operator changes, a regional Aircraft will be repainted every 5 years in average and a medium size Aircraft every 7 years.

Services supplied by APP include Aircraft induction, preparation of the surfaces to be painted, application of PRIMER and successive layers of paint as well as the livery decoration. In addition to all of this, there is the supply and application of the Registrations, Technical Markings as well as eventually a complete application of Varnish for a VIP Finishing

All is done to reduce the grounding Cycle to its minimum (between 5 and 9 days for a complete paint) and AIRPLANE PAINTER will always manage its ressources to achieve a TAT as short as possible.

#1 : Aircraft handling and preliminary inspection

Before the work commences, AIRPLANE PAINTER performs a complete inspection of the Aircraft and report all existing structural damages or cosmetic defects that might harm the global aspect of the Aircraft after renovation of the surfaces. If required, local and suitable surface treatments will then allow to restore the appearance of the Aircraft.

From Francazal Airport Tarmac, Aircrafts are then towed to one of AIRPLANE PAINTER’s hangars.

#2 : Surfaces preparation

 
 
 

AIRPLANE PAINTER Teams protect any part of the Aircraft where it is requested : Gears, Air intakes, windows, seals and any element that may be damaged during the next steps.

#3 : Stripping

Once properly protected, the areas not to painted will be hidden. Production teams start the process or removing lays of previous paints with acid or peroxid, solvents. These products beeing approved and by the Authorities and comply with the environment requirements.

 
 
 

#4 : Sanding

 
 

Mechanical sanding completes chemical stripping by removing all traces of remaining paint and leaves therefore surface fully ready for paint application.

#5 : Aircraft masking

Application of masking material allow for protection of critical areas on the Aircraft or Decoration areas.

This is the last step before application of chemical coatings used to improve resistance to corrosion on one hand and increase capacity to fix the final coat of paint on the other hand.

 
 
 
 

#6 : Paint

 
 
 

Paint is a key step of the work. In order to garantee Paint adhesion and rendering quality, 3 lays of Paint are applied on the support. An adhesion lay, an anti-corrosion lay and a final lay.

These 3 lays represent less than 0,15 mm thickness.

#7 : Livery, decoration and technical markings

Aircraft is prepared to receive its Livery with the Design and Colors of the Airline.

A preliminary work on a CAD System allows to virtualy visualise the final rendering with the graphic elements positionned onto the Aircraft as accurately as possible.

AIRPLANE PAINTER teams perform application of Technical Markings on all external panels of the Aircraft.

 
 
 
 

#8 : Polishing & touch’ups

 
 
 

Total surface of the Aircraft can be polished to give a perfect finishing result.

All sections of Aircraft are inspected in order to check that Paint and Stickers are correctly applied, that Technical Markings comply with Aircraft documentation and Quality of any expectation is met.
